Days for worship and Maha Lakshmi ashtakam

Hari Om.

Was listening to the Maha Lakshmi Ashtakam (8 verses in praise of the lovely Goddess of auspiciousness and spiritual and material wealth). Today is Her day- Friday is the day of the Goddess as per Vedic Astrology.

All days are good for worship. However the following days are classically associated with the following different forms of the One God and are suitable for extra puja/japa/homam if one wishes to propitiate a particular form. Worship of specific forms of the Divine is sometimes prescribed by Vedic astrologers as the best remedy to reduce the effects of difficult karma associated with different planets in one's horoscope. This is also prescribed for yogis for spiritual progress.

The following days are associated with the following deities as per Vedic astrology

Sunday (ruled by the Suryadev, the Sun)- presiding deities are  Rama, Shiva
Monday (ruled by Chandradev, the Moon)- Parvati, Divine Mother
Tuesday (ruled by Mangal, Mars) - Subramanya, Narasimha, Hanuman
Wednesday (ruled by Buddha, Mercury)- Vishnu
Thursday (ruled by Brihaspati, Jupiter)- Guru, SambaShiva
Friday (ruled by Shukra, Venus)- Lakshmi, Divine Mother
Saturday (ruled by Shanidev, Saturn)-  Narayana

I really like reciting and listening to the Maha Lakshmi ashtakam. It is a lovely prayer to a very lovely Goddess, the beloved of Mukunda.

Would like to share the meaning of this prayer and a link to listen to it for anyone who is interested.
