World peace japa

Hari Aum.

The Gurus say that reciting the mantra of God can bring peace to the world. This is because the mantra of God is God Himself.

My Guru Sivananda says that chanting a mantra has a positive effect, whether done knowingly or unknowingly, with or without faith.

There is suffering due to violence everywhere on Earth. Each country is affected with some being more affected than others. This is due to a high level of rajas and tamas (negative energies) in the world.

I would like to request readers of this blog to kindly dedicate five minutes of mantra recitation daily for world peace. This will increase the amount of sattva (positive energy) in the world.

The Gurus say that, as we are all one, when we help others, we actually help ourselves. Equally, when we harm others, we actually harm ourselves.

If a number of us join together and chant mantras for peace, we can have a positive impact on the world.

Please see below for a quotation by my Guru Swami Sivananda on the importance of mantra recitation for world peace:

Swami Sivananda says:

MEDITATE AND BRING PEACE TO THE WORLD

"Do not feel that you are only an ordinary individual, one in millions. Do not think that unless you have co-operation from thousands and thousands all over the world, nothing of real importance will be done. No, you forget that every thought sent out by you, you the humble individual that you think you are, every thought sent in the proper manner with full trust in God, for pure unselfishness, has behind it the support of all well-wishes, embodied and disembodied. You do not know how many great well-wishers of the world are everywhere in spirit ready to give invisible help to selfless workers."

"Every thought that you send out is a vibration which never perishes. It goes on vibrating every particle of the universe and if your thoughts are noble, holy and forcible, they set in vibration every sympathetic mind. Unconsciously all people who are like you take the thought you have projected and in accordance with the capacity that they have, they send out similar thoughts. The result is that, without your knowledge the consequences of your own work, you will be setting in motion great forces which will work together and put down the lowly and mean thoughts generated by the selfish and the wicked."

"Make your own individual appeal to God and ask Him to send Light to help humanity for the establishment of peace and promotion of happiness."

If one has a personal mantra that one likes, one can repeat this (mentally or verbally) for world peace. If one does not already have a mantra, then I would like to suggest the well-known "Om Namo Narayanaya" mantra for world peace. This mantra carries the energy of Lord Narayana, the Protector of the the Universe, and is an important mantra for world peace. Chanting this mantra 108 times at a medium pace takes only five minutes.

See link below for a YouTube video with slow chanting of the Om Namo Narayanaya mantra:

See my article below for correct pronunciation of the Om Namo Narayanaya mantra:

Finally, see this article below on the greatness of the Om Namo Narayanaya mantra as described in the ancient scripture, the Narayana Upanishad from the Krishna Yajur Veda:

Sivananda also says that sankirtan or singing of the names or mantras of God bring peace to the world.

He says "The powerful vibrations are carried to distant places. They bring elevation of mind, solace, strength to all people and work as a harbinger of peace, harmony and concord. They annihilate hostile forces and quickly bring peace and bliss to the whole world."

Please see below for link to my article on sankirtan with more information regarding my Guru's advice on this subject.

Om Namo Narayanaya. Om Namo Narayanaya. Om Namo Narayanaya.

Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare
Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare.

Hari Aum Tat Sat

P.S. I have purchased a small globe recently and keep this in my meditation room. I keep this in front of me when chanting the Om Namo Narayanaya mantra and invoke the blessings of Lord Narayana upon the entire Earth while chanting. This globe makes it easier for me to visualise the energy of the mantra spreading everywhere on Earth. Some readers may also find it helpful to use a globe to visualise projecting the energy of the mantra everywhere (in air, land and sea) for world peace.
